What Will It Cost You?

No, not money! Focus!!

What will it cost you to exercise faith? God brought you into this world, but He never expected you to figure it out without Him. The problem that some of us have, is that we try to figure it out all on our own. We want our cake and expect to eat it too.

Sometimes we have to put down what we want, cake, so He can give us better crème brûlée. But it comes at a price. Two of the biggest lessons I learned in 2020, were surrender and sacrifice. We have to be willing to give up ourselves to God's will each and every day. We hold on to what we want so much, its hard to let go and make space for God to work! So, the real question is, do we really have faith?

To exercise your faith, you have to be willing to let go and let God. That's how it works. Detour. Your girl, me, is still single. But I learned that desiring a significant other or having high standards weren't bad; it's the idea that God should give me what I want. I had to let go of that idea, and welcome the idea that He will provide me with what I NEED and as an added bonus, include an attraction factor that I like.

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

- Jeremiah 29:11

If God has a plan to prosper me and give me a popping future, why would I sabotage that? Why not put my trust in Him and step out of my comfort zone and do whatever He's calling me to? I know it's not easy. Sometimes you have to move away from what you know, and welcome what is being presented to you. Otherwise, you may remove yourself from the equation completely. You may cost yourself your future, your sanity, or your happiness by residing in comfort.

Now I don't know about you, but some well done crème brûlée is a bit more posh that Betty Crocker. I prefer the finer things. I don't want to will myself into eating cake mix for the rest of my life. You need to determine what price you would rather pay make an investment now, or pay a greater fine later. Faith is free! What will is cost you?
