UNSUBSCRIBE

NO NO! Don't unsubscribe from the blog! Are you nuts? What you need to mentally unsubscribe from are the negative, belittling, unsupportive thoughts that YOU ALLOW to encapsulate your mind on a daily. If you keep telling yourself that "it's hard", "I can't", "this is too much", what exactly do you think is going to happen?

MINDSET

Definition: the established set of attitudes held by someone.

With that, where do your attitudes derive from? How are they influenced? Is it from your past experiences, what you were taught, the books you read, the podcasts you listen to, or maybe the influence of social media?

What are you feeding your mind?

What are you doing on a daily basis that influences how you think, and what you are mentally saying to your subconscious?

I used to be so caught up in social media that I was afraid to disconnect for a moment for the fear of "missing out". But really, what I was probably missing out on, was my own life. Let me tell you, it is one of the most freeing experiences to disconnect from social media and give your mind a space to breathe and be active on its own. I think it is such a beautiful thing to be able to let your mind wander without comparing yourself to something/someone else and the associated standards. So many of our attitudes, standards, and mental timelines are influenced by the media. We put unrealistic expectations on ourselves based on what we see, not realizing that what we're aiming for wasn't even a part of our bigger picture to begin with. The crazy part is, The Grass Ain't Greener!

I harp on social media and its influences a lot because I know for a fact that it influences our mindset whether positively or negatively. I used to keep up with the latest celeb news/trends so that I could be apart of conversations until I realized that I was uninterested. Yes, there are people who I admire, or who inspire me; however, there are those who are about the clout, and the fast life and maybe it's because I got bills to pay, a job to uphold, and a purpose to serve but I don't care. Don't get me, wrong sis, I do have my moments, but to say I follow up and keep tabs? Nope! In the past two years, I've found myself unfollowing certain pages, avoiding what makes me feel insecure or inferior, and also paying attention to what I display. I only follow who and what inspires me to be greater. If it gives me the slightest ill-feeling whether or not it is from my own insecurities, I UNFOLLOW. What I mentally ingest, affects how I operate in the flesh.

The key to wealth is health, not money. And in order to have a wealthy mindset, you have to pay attention to what your mind. There was a time when I associated wealth with just money, but money doesn't grant peace, stability, purpose or happiness; contrary to what you may see.

Don't allow outside influences to lead you astray. If the attitudes and beliefs you're adapting do not serve a higher purpose, then tap out. Make a conscious decision to pay attention to what you feed your mindset because ultimately it controls your actions.
