The Gift of Rejection

Good day love! Happy Tuesday! I know that you're probably reading the title like how in God's name is rejection a gift? Let me tell you how.

Question: have you ever, let's say, tried to seek the attention of a male prospect by way of his DMs, only for him to ignore your message, or better yet, shoot you down in the nicest way possible and then you can't get mad because he was graceful about it? Okay, so you know what I'm talking about, for those of you who don't, kudos to you sis! I've been there. Whenever I see memes about it being 2020 and girls shooting their shot, I kindly roll my eyes and go to bed even if it's 2PM. Miss me with that. I may be a tad bit salty 🤣. The point that I'm trying to make, is no one likes the feeling of rejection.

Over time, I've come to realize that rejection doesn't necessarily mean doomsday. It can be a gift. Okay, look at it this way. Say the guy you're DM'ing doesn't respond to you, but you still follow him on social media. Three months later, you see that he has personal life drama and you're immediately turned off. Now, you probably said "thank God I didn't talk to him" because you would dread being caught up in that mess, right? That's what I mean. Sometimes the situations we wish for and think we need, are all but false-hopes and distractions.

I know I'm making light of the situation, but the truth is: sometimes we get so caught up in what isn't, that we miss the blessing of what is. You are not cursed. Stop praying to God asking Him for things that He is trying to rid from your life. Trust that He has something better. It wasn't meant for you, for a reason. Sometimes, you just need to be patient. Sometimes the path you're on or desire will detour you from the path you were meant to be. The gift of rejection is a beautiful thing when you have faith that God will deliver your heart's desires. Rejection is not always a 'no', sometimes it just means you have to be patient.
