Plant The Seed

I'll be short, sweet and saucy this morning. Think on this:

What seed(s) are you planting/or the lack thereof?

Simply put, we were all given seeds. I watched an interview done by Pastor Stephen Furtick as he interviewed Bishop T. D. Jakes some years ago [watch it here] about his, then, new book. I found it interesting that he mentioned us all having seeds (not gifts/talents) which essentially is what he was talking about.

Let me give you some background. A seed has to go through a process of germination:

  1. water uptake (fills the seed)Step 1: Imbibition: water fills the seed.

  2. enzymatic expansion (water activates the seed's enzymes)

  3. rooted (the seed grows roots underground)

  4. from root to shoot (shoots grow towards sunlight)

  5. shoots sprout leaves with respect to light

If a seed has to go through a process before it can develop into a fruit or tree or flower; did it ever occur to you that you will also have to go through a germination process? Let me see if I can drive this home for you. Esther was favored by the king (our gifts usually cause us to be favored by others in ways we cannot see ourselves). Even though she was favored, she had to go through a germination process be groomed and learned the ways of a queen, so that she could save her people.

Basically, your seed will stay a seed unless you plant, further cultivate, water, nurture and allow it to take root. You'll never see a mango seed grow into a mango tree unless it's planted and taken care of properly. Only deeply rooted seeds will withstand anything that mother nature throws at it. Don't be careless with the seeds that were bestowed upon you.

Plant your seed and allow it to germinate. Don't worry about whether it will take root or if it will sprout leaves. Trust. The. Process.

"They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit."

- Jeremiah 17:8 NIV (Bible)

Like Esther who believed that God could use her, you should also plant your seed with the knowledge that your divine source holds your roots, and He will always ensure that you bear fruit no matter the season.

PS. I promised you this was supposed to be short but 🤷🏾‍♀️ I lied 😎 Have a blessed Monday love. Plant your seed and trust the process.
