Pivot

So, last week I had my first ever free webinar on zoom. I was nervous, excited, anxious, ready, all the emotions at the same damn time! But girl, when I say I had to just work through the rollercoaster ... whew! š Lately, this word PIVOT even though it is apart of my 5 P's to THRIVE, has been ringing in my ear A LOT! I almost felt like God was playing a funny on me.
I wanted to share this today not to complain or rant, but you allow you to see that God will use you for a particular assignment, and even though there are obstacles along the way, I believe He's just testing you.
So boomš„, it was Sunday, March 8th, a bright beautiful sunny day in the neighborhood. I woke up feeling empowered, knowing that my webinar would be a hit even if I was the only one that showed up. I was ready to conquer all odds and prove to myself that I was capable of doing this! Approximately, two hours into my day, the bomb dropped. I'd learned that there would be some construction occurring in the house.
Sure, I'd vented to my best friend, and then I just sat there staring into space. I realized that I was being tested. This webinar had been planned to a T, about a month ahead of time. I knew that I couldn't quit, because I had persons sign up, and it was a topic I felt like I needed to share. So I decided to pivot. I called a family friend and asked to use one of her rooms. I then heard Patrice's voice in my head say "you will need people". Because we cannot do it all alone!
Girl, why upon pulling up to my backup location, there was construction there too? Here I was looking at God like "you're a funny guy today!" I was seconds away from heading to a hotel. But I trusted my gut. My pivot plan ended up working out. They finished the construction by 3PM, my nephew was down just in time, and the house was quiet. The webinar started and ended on time with no glitches. Everyone who showed up was grateful. I got some amazing feedback within minutes of me finishing, and I was so thankful that I pushed through the obstacles to get it done!
This incident showed me how much I'd grown. Pivoting is about moving from what's not working, and finding a solution to your problem. Your problems overcome you IF you let them. Pivoting is necessary for growth.
