Heal, Your Future Depends On It

Hey love!
Do you remember at the start of this year, one of my focus areas was healing? I remember flipping through a magazine and seeing the word appear numerous times. I took that as a sign that some form of healing had to happen for me.
At the height of the pandemic, I sought to invest my time and energy into what served me. My energy for 2021 was no different. When I invested in Purpose 2 Platform coaching program, I knew I was in for a treat. However, I did not expect this magnitude of a mindset shift. The clarity I gained was incredible! My future is dependent upon my healing because the people I'm called to serve need me at my best.
I didn't know what healing meant for me in this season. I had a slight idea, but I wasn't sure to what extent. The moment I tried to tread deeper into the seas of my purpose, was the more present my fears became. I didn't realize how deeply rooted my fears and limiting beliefs were. The other day I was reading old journal entries and realized that my current fears weren't new. They didn't come up because I decided I wanted to expand my brand. They had been sitting there all along.
The thing about trauma and hurt and insecurities, is that they don't just go away. You have to make a conscious decision to get rid of it. Think of it as weight cuz every spring I miraculously think my summer body's going to emerge and I know damn well it doesn't work that way. Just like you have to eat healthy and exercise regularly for your perfect body, is the same way you have to renew your mindset to produce new thoughts.
It takes profound introspection and personal hard work to dismantle suffering. Breaking the chains of unhealthy cycles begins with acceptance.

I had to accept that I wasn't truly whole or healed from past scars. Maybe I didn't overcome all that I thought I did. I no longer wanted my fears to rule me. I knew that in order for God to use an imperfect vessel like me, that I'd had to invite faith and belief into the picture. I had to make a conscious decision to change. I truly believe that healing is the ticket that some of us need to move forward.
The truth is, many of us think we are afraid to heal because of what may resurface. But I want to encourage you to think about the freedom attached to your healing. Everyone's journey will look a little different. For some it may be therapy, cutting off old contacts, removing yourself from toxic family ties, setting boundaries for yourself, releasing your truth to free your mind etc.
Remember this, healing isn't for them, it's for you. But understand that your healing will cause those connected to you to be better as a result of it.
