A Heart of Gratitude

As we approach Thanksgiving this coming Thursday (if you're not in the U.S., the last Thursday of November is recognized as Thanksgiving Day), I want to encourage you to position yourself with a heart of gratitude.

Last week I tuned into my P2P sister, Anlicia Noel's "Daily Declarations" on Instagram live, while driving to work. The two days I was able to catch it, she was speaking about giving thanks. It brought me a sense of peace while driving and listening because I realized how important it is to always maintain a heart of gratitude.

Now, I know that trials and tribulations may be upon us, and I know that dealing with problems isn't easy, but how many times when things are going well, do we stop to just give God thanks. It doesn't even have to be the big things. How many times do you utter "Thank you Lord" when you wake up with fresh air in your lungs, or when you take for granted the fact that you got home safe? When things are going well, it's so easy to forget our heart-posture. I know for a fact that there are days when I run around like normal, forgetting that I am not in control of when I wake up or go to sleep.

While everyone's circumstance is different, most people take the time to celebrate the holiday with family, closed friends and loved ones. No matter where you will be this Thanksgiving (even if you don't celebrate it because of culture/tradition/personal reasons), take some time out this week to think about 3 things that you are grateful for. Honestly, it should be a daily habit, but we'll take baby steps. Let me know in the comments down below.

That's it sis, that's the blog post for this week. Let's try to keep in the forefront of our minds what we're grateful for.

I pray that you have a blessed Thanksgiving, and a great week.
